Jim Tarran

Jim has been practicing yoga since 1990 and teaching since 1992. He qualified as a yoga teacher in the Patanjali Yoga Centre Nepal in 1992 and from the Iyengar teacher training course in 1996. He has studied Buddhism and other Indian soteriologies in depth including; tantra, advaita vedanta, Vedic philosophy and hatha texts.

He also runs and devised the, Yoga Alliance registered 500 hour, teacher training course, Vajrasati Yoga, which has been running since 2000. As a teacher trainer he teaches and is qualified to teach students ranging from total beginners to advanced and everyone in between.

The focus of Jim’s classes is hinged on yoga practices that are familiar to most; asana (posture), dhyana (mediation), pranayama (breathing practices), mudra (hand gestures and otter ‘energy containers and mantra (chanting). Taking the lions share of these is asana.

All the techniques are employed to serve the principal purpose of yoga – an awakening to the undivided holism of our essence.
